REACH / CLP
REACH / CLP
For chemical companies in the EU, there are two laws in particular that are currently generating a lot of extra work.
– The REACH regulation (EC no 1907/2006)
Registration of individual substances
– The CLP regulation (EC no 1272/2008)
Classification and labelling of products
How is Tribotec working with REACH?
Tribotec has been working actively with the REACH regulation since it was adopted in 2006. Since REACH is a law that changes depending on how other laws within the EU are changed, we make sure we keep ourselves up-to-date with the latest amendments. We are in close contact with all of our suppliers in order to obtain the information needed so we are able to fulfil the REACH legislation.
How is Tribotec working with CLP?
Since Tribotec, according to the legislation, is a downstream user, we are dependent on how our suppliers work with CLP. When the suppliers start relabeling their products, we will also do it so the information is passed on further down the user chain. If there are reclassifications, we contact those customers that are concerned so they can take the actions required for safe handling. Since the transition period is up to 2017, it can take time before all products are labelled according to CLP.
